As they say in the Netherlands, Saskia Linssen is mooi - that is to say, she’s very beautiful. Born in Venlo, a city on the Netherlands' border with Germany, redheaded Saskia is a woman of the world – she’s well-traveled, and speaks fluent English and German in addition to her native Dutch. “We’re so little, we have to learn to deal with people from other countries,” she says of her diminutive province – though sometimes, like with certain loud-mouthed tourists, she loses her European cool. Saskia is a woman of discerning, but sometimes opposing, tastes: she hates to get up in the morning but loves to dress up; hates fish but loves all American food; she considers herself a romantic but finds herself turned on by bossy types. Good thing we like our Playmates as well-rounded as they are well-built – when we saw Saskia on the cover of Dutch Playboy, we flew her to the States and made her our Miss June 1991. “It’s very strange to model in front of a camera,” reflects Saskia, whose image was printed in thousands of issues of Playboy, both in the Netherlands and United States. (Fun fact: Dutch readers were treated to life-size prints of Saskia as a Greek statue - she posed for an hour while her plaster cast hardened.) Far from a career model, Miss June is studying to be a children’s schoolteacher in Rotterdam, where she spent most of her own childhood. A dedicated equestrienne, she spends her free time on horseback, and hopes to find her own stallion one day. “Men are like horses,” she says with a little smile. “I ask both to wear saddles and obey, but neither wants to.” All joking aside, Saskia is looking for a man who bucks trends, but won’t throw her off. “A man has to respect me and have the strength to fight with me,” she says. “I can be very stubborn with men. I need someone who can overrule me.” No objections, Miss Linssen – as always, dankejewel for being you.
