“My friends call me Country Bumpkin,” says Marie Thompson who grew up in rural Virginia. “I’m from a small town. I grew up on a farm and had an accent when I moved to Virginia Beach. Everyone started calling me Country Bumpkin and it stuck.” We refer to the country girl by a completely different name—Cybergirl of the Week for August 2, 2004. The beauty with the reddish-brown, pixie cut says her family was perhaps more surprised by her CGOW than she was. “I thought something was wrong with my family when my name was called,” laughs brown-eyed Marie.
